Duckey Duck is an award-winning national journalist…okay, maybe not national…and “award-winning” refers to his grade school spelling bee. But he writes a column for the family newspaper, Duckey Daily, that covers happenings around the pond. Duckey is the go-to duck for a laugh, a great story, or carrot sticks, his favorite snack! His life changed in 2007 when Neptune chose him for his most exciting assignment ever: to write Duckey and the Ocean Protectors! This is his first book, but definitely not his last...

John Sexton came from a long line of hard-working entrepreneurs and professionals in North Carolina who taught him, by example, the value of respecting the environment. As a child, he spent countless hours in the company he found most inspiring…the wild creatures of the land, sea, and air. In those early years, the animals he loved became lifelike characters to him and started playing out their lives in his imagination.

During an eight-year stint in the Army and Air Force, John kept his characters alive. Later, as a long-distance truck driver, he spent his long hours on the open road developing story ideas and notes on his characters. A keen observer of human nature, John has found inspiration for each and every one of his characters from actual people or animals in his life.
